Our research division „Sustainable Products & Material Flows“, located
in Freiburg has an immediate opening for a
Research Associate
Task profile
- Autonomous handling of projects on life cycle assessment,
material flow analyses as well as product and corporate carbon footprint assessments;
- Participation in the acquisition of externally funded projects;
- An interesting, multi-faceted and responsible job in a future-oriented and dynamic research institution;
- Close cooperation within interdisciplinary and dedicated teams.
Qualification profile
- Degree in engineering, natural or technical sciences;
- Expert knowledge in product-, technology- and process-oriented
research areas;
- Practical experience in using the current software tools and databases for modelling, calculation and
visualization of material and energy flow systems (e.g. umberto, ecoinvent);
- High level of communicative competence and a convincing demeanour towards our project partners and clients;
- Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.

national and international scale: product policy, sustainability assess-ment of products and technologies,
energy efficiency, environmental
labels, social standards;
- Participation in the acquisition of externally funded projects;
- An interesting, multi-faceted and responsible job in a future-oriented and dynamic research institution;
- Close cooperation within interdisciplinary and dedicated teams.
Qualification profile
- Degree in engineering, natural or social sciences;
- Experiences in the acquisition and management of projects;
- Experiences in non-European countries – ideally in a developing
or emerging country;
- High level of communicative competence and a convincing demeanour towards our project partners, clients, and
in the context of stakeholder processes;
- Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.
