Our research division „Sustainable Products & Material Flows“, located
in Freiburg has an immediate opening for a

Research Associate

Task profile

  • Autonomous handling of projects on life cycle assessment,
    material flow analyses as well as product and corporate carbon footprint assessments;
  • Participation in the acquisition of externally funded projects;
  • An interesting, multi-faceted and responsible job in a future-oriented and dynamic research institution;
  • Close cooperation within interdisciplinary and dedicated teams.

Qualification profile

  • Degree in engineering, natural or technical sciences;
  • Expert knowledge in product-, technology- and process-oriented
    research areas;
  • Practical experience in using the current software tools and databases for modelling, calculation and visualization of material and energy flow systems (e.g. umberto, ecoinvent);
  • High level of communicative competence and a convincing demeanour towards our project partners and clients;
  • Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.

We can offer you

    agreement;
  • Option of part-time employment;
  • A position initially limited to two years duration;

Task profile

  • Autonomous handling and management of projects in the context
    of sustainable consumption focussing on the following areas on a
    national and international scale: product policy, sustainability assess-ment of products and technologies, energy efficiency, environmental
    labels, social standards;
  • Participation in the acquisition of externally funded projects;
  • An interesting, multi-faceted and responsible job in a future-oriented and dynamic research institution;
  • Close cooperation within interdisciplinary and dedicated teams.

Qualification profile

  • Degree in engineering, natural or social sciences;
  • Experiences in the acquisition and management of projects;
  • Experiences in non-European countries – ideally in a developing
    or emerging country;
  • High level of communicative competence and a convincing demeanour towards our project partners, clients, and in the context of stakeholder processes;
  • Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.
